2023 - Russ Hadley's Final Season Begins!

Spring fishing on Flathead Lake began last week and it's going well! We've landed some really nice Lake Trout as well as a few Pike.

Late Summer Fishing

Dry Flies on Flathead River

We're able to fish with dry flies on Flathead River and are picking up some decent fish that way. On Flathead Lake we're doing pretty well fishing for Lake Trout and an occasional Bull Trout, when trolling. The Whitefish are still hit and miss, but I'm expecting it to get more predictable soon.

Great Day On The Flathead River

Dry Flies are doing well on the Flathead River it was a great day yesterday with lots of fish and some real nice sized ones with great friends.

May 29th Fly Fishing the Flathead River who would ever believe that and it was pretty good Nymph fishing. The water is still a little off color but fishable, hoping it stays that way.

Our 4th Annual River Clean up House of Mystery to Old Steel September 14th

 September 5th we did a pre pick up and got a boat load including a transmission

 September 14th we had so much we had to stop and unload on Presentine Bar so we could finish our clean up float.

we ended up with 5 full 55 gallon trash bags and lots of old car parts. 

Flathead River and Flathead Lake in August

The Flathead River is still giving up some real nice Cutthroat Trout, as you can tell by Cynthia’s and Tobey’s nice ones. Flathead Lake is also real good for jigging both Lake Trout and Whitefish. As Bill and Greg show you, we filled a cooler and then some in a hurry out there.

Dry flies are working well on the Flathead River getting quite a bit of actions and landing some nice fish in the 16" range and once in a while a larger one.
Flathead Lake has turned on for the Whitefish jigging can have some 100 fish days lots of fun.

It's time the dry fly fishing has kicked in and they are hungry getting some nice fish and lots of action. The high water is not a factor. Julie and Mike both caught nice fish on Monday.

Flathead Lake Monsters

This week has fantastic for large Lake Trout my good friend and fellow guide caught a trout right at 30lbs. on Monday. Then Wednesday I was out with my two brothers and Kevin caught a 24lb. Lake Trout and all they would let me catch were little ones around 18lbs. It's a great time of year to catch large fish so give me a call (406-261-5655). We are also getting an occasional Northern Pike.

Good Stewards!

Besides being an outstanding outfitter and guide, Russ is a good steward of God's creation! He and Maureen Hathaway did their third annual clean up of the section of Flathead River where Russ is licensed to guide. It was a long day, but they pulled lots of garbage out of the river and off the river banks, including this tractor wheel.
