Flathead Lake This Week April 5 th

Flathead Lake is fishing great in the Shallow water for nice sized Lake Trout now is the time.

Spring Fishing

The Lake Trout are in Shallow water on Flathead Lake. The largest last weekend was 18lbs. these are examples of what we caught. The river is also fishing well with Nymphs if anyone is interested.

My daughter Alyssa shot this monster 175" gross whitetail this morning. What a great Thanksgiving day.

Flathead River in October

Flathead River is still fishing well as you can see with this very nice measured 19" Cutthroat caught by 10 year old Jack from Colorado on a Prince Nymph, his dad Greg is holding it for him. Our weather has been holding nicely for us with 50 to 60 degree days and as long as that goes on fishing will be great.

Fall patterns are what we are now using like Hoppers and Black Ants, also try Nymphs and Eggs under a strike indicator. The fishing has been very good with lots of 14 to 16 inch fish and a few larger ones. As the whitefish move up river so will the larger fish following to eat the eggs.

Dry Fly Action

Still doing well on dry flies on the Flathead River and should till we get a frost.

Go with either large attractors (Chernobyl's) or small dries like an Adams or Humpy's.

Flathead River Fly Fishing

The river is still doing well on the smaller Cutthroat Trout and Rainbows some days. We are getting a few larger fish to take smaller flies in the deeper water mostly. The float is great this time of year and we are having a wonderful time on the water.
